This Software Principles document describes how Sapphire Softech Solutions LLC ("Computeroids," "we," "us," or "our") designs, develops, and distributes the Computeroids Driver Updater desktop software. It explains our commitment to transparency, user control, data privacy, and security. It also describes what the software does, what it never does, and how users can remain in control at all times.

This document is intended for users, security researchers, advertising platform reviewers, and compliance auditors. It should be read together with our End User License Agreement (EULA), Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Terms of Use, and Uninstall Instructions.

Computeroids Driver Updater helps users of Windows-based personal computers identify outdated, missing, or malfunctioning device drivers and install appropriate manufacturer-provided replacements. Our design philosophy is built on three principles:

• User control: The user decides when to scan, what to update, and when to remove the software.
• Honest operation: Scan results reflect the actual state of the system. We do not inflate issues or use scare tactics.
• Safety first: All driver updates are preceded by automatic backups. We only recommend drivers that are digitally signed and WHQL-certified where available.

• Transparency: Every function of the software is disclosed to the user before and during installation.
• Consent: The software does not perform actions without the user's informed consent.
• Simplicity: The software is designed to be understandable by users of all skill levels.
• Security: All communications between the software and our servers are encrypted. All distributed binaries are digitally signed.
• Privacy: Data collection is limited to what is necessary for the software to function. We do not sell personal data.

We commit to the following transparency standards:

• All principal and significant functions are disclosed at installation time and in this document.
• Any changes to software behaviour are communicated through update notices.
• Data collection practices are documented in our Privacy Policy and summarised in this document.
• Users can access this document, our EULA, Privacy Policy, and Uninstall Instructions at any time from our website.
• We do not use confusing or misleading names for the software or its components.

The installation process for Computeroids Driver Updater is designed to be clear, straightforward, and controlled by the user.

• The installer (cdusetup.exe) is only downloaded when the user clicks a clearly labelled download button on our website.
• No download or installation occurs without the user's affirmative action.
• The installer displays the software name, publisher (Sapphire Softech Solutions LLC), and a description of principal functions before installation begins.
• The user may cancel the installation at any point before completion.
• After installation, the software may perform an initial automatic scan of the system's device drivers. This behaviour is disclosed during installation.
• The user may close the application at any time after installation. Closing the application stops all scanning and update activity.

5.1 What the Installer Does

The installer:

• Places the Computeroids Driver Updater application files in the user-selected installation directory
• Creates a Start Menu shortcut
• Creates a desktop shortcut (optional, user may deselect)
• Registers the application in Windows "Add or Remove Programs" for standard uninstallation
• May create default scheduled tasks for periodic scanning (disclosed during installation)

5.2 What the Installer Never Does

The installer never:

• Downloads or installs software without user consent
• Installs software silently or in the background
• Bundles third-party applications or offers without clear disclosure and opt-out
• Modifies browser settings, homepage, or search provider without explicit user direction
• Installs toolbars, adware, or any form of malware
• Hides its presence or uses deceptive filenames

All software binaries distributed by Sapphire Softech Solutions LLC, including the installer (cdusetup.exe), the main application executable, and all update packages, are digitally signed with a valid code-signing certificate issued by a trusted Certificate Authority.

Users can verify the digital signature by right-clicking the file in Windows Explorer, selecting Properties, and viewing the Digital Signatures tab.

The signature confirms the publisher identity (Sapphire Softech Solutions LLC) and ensures the binary has not been tampered with since signing.

All update packages are similarly signed and verified before installation.

Computeroids Driver Updater performs the following principal functions:

• System scanning: Scans the user's Windows system to identify installed hardware devices and their current driver versions.
• Driver matching: Compares installed driver versions against a database of manufacturer-provided driver versions to identify outdated, missing, or malfunctioning drivers.
• Driver recommendations: Presents the user with a list of recommended driver updates, showing current version, available version, manufacturer, and release date.
• Driver download: Downloads selected driver packages from manufacturer-authorised sources or our verified mirror cache.
• Driver installation: Installs downloaded drivers on the user's system. All installed drivers are digitally signed and WHQL-certified where available.
• Driver backup: Automatically creates a backup of the current driver before any update is installed.
• Driver restore: Allows the user to restore previously backed-up drivers from the Restore tab.
• Scheduled scanning: Performs automatic periodic scans on a schedule configurable by the user.
• Automatic-update: Checks for new versions of the Computeroids Driver Updater application and installs them with user awareness.

We are committed to providing honest, accurate driver recommendations.

• Scan results reflect the actual state of each detected hardware device.
• We do not fabricate, exaggerate, or inflate the number of driver issues detected.
• Each recommendation is based on a comparison between the installed driver version and the latest available manufacturer version.
• We clearly distinguish between critical updates (security, functionality) and optional updates (newer versions with minor changes).

When the user initiates a scan, the software:

• Enumerates all hardware devices connected to the system using standard Windows APIs
• Reads the current driver version, provider, and installation date for each device
• Compares each installed driver against our driver database, which is populated from manufacturer-published driver metadata
• Identifies drivers that are outdated, missing, not digitally signed, or malfunctioning
• Presents results categorised by severity and type

The scan operates entirely locally. No data is transmitted during the scan phase. Data is only transmitted when the user chooses to view detailed driver information or initiate an update.

We strictly prohibit the following practices:

• Reporting fake or phantom device issues
• Claiming that healthy drivers are outdated or malfunctioning
• Exaggerating the number of available updates
• Using urgency or scare tactics to pressure users into purchasing

Our scan algorithms are designed to identify genuine driver issues and present them accurately. We do not display warnings about system health, antivirus status, registry problems, or any condition unrelated to device drivers.

11.1 Driver Sources

Drivers recommended by Computeroids Driver Updater are sourced from:

• Official manufacturer websites and distribution channels
• Microsoft Windows Update catalog (for WHQL-signed drivers)
• Verified driver repositories maintained by hardware vendors

11.2 Driver Authenticity

• All drivers recommended by the software are verified to be digitally signed by the original manufacturer or Microsoft.
• WHQL-certified drivers are preferred and prominently marked.
• We do not modify, re-package, or alter manufacturer driver files.
• We do not distribute beta or pre-release drivers unless explicitly identified as such.

11.3 Manufacturer Relationship

Computeroids Driver Updater is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any hardware manufacturer. Drivers available through our software are also available free of charge from the respective manufacturer's website. Our software provides a convenience service by automating the search, download, and installation process.

1. The user selects one or more drivers to update from the scan results.
2. The user clicks "Update" or "Update All" to begin.
3. Before any driver is installed, the software automatically creates a backup of the current driver (see Section 13).
4. The software downloads the new driver package over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
5. The downloaded package is verified for digital signature integrity.
6. The driver is installed using standard Windows driver installation APIs.
7. After installation, the user may be prompted to restart their computer if required by the driver.
8. The user may cancel the update process at any time before the driver installation begins. Once installation has started, it will complete to avoid leaving the system in an inconsistent state.

13.1 Automatic Backups

Before any driver update is applied, the software automatically creates a backup of the currently installed driver. Backups are stored locally on the user's computer.

13.2 Manual Backups

Users may also create manual backups of all or selected drivers through the Backup tab.

13.3 Restore

Users can restore previously backed-up drivers through the Restore tab. The restore process:

• Lists available backups by date and driver name
• Allows the user to select specific drivers to restore
• Reverts to the backed-up driver version using standard Windows APIs

13.4 Important Note — Not a System Restore

Computeroids Driver Updater creates driver-specific backups. It does not create Windows System Restore points. For system-level protection, users should rely on Windows System Restore or third-party system backup solutions.

The software may create scheduled tasks upon installation to perform automatic periodic scans. Users can configure the scan schedule through the Settings tab, including:

• Enabling or disabling scheduled scanning entirely
• Selecting scan frequency (daily, weekly, monthly)
• Setting specific day and time for scans

Scheduled scans are optional. Users can disable them at any time.

Computeroids Driver Updater includes a built-in Automatic-update feature.

• The user can check for updates by selecting "Check for Updates" from the application menu.
• When an update is available, the software downloads the update package over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
• The update package is verified by digital signature before installation.
• The user is notified before the update is applied and can choose to install immediately or later.
• Updates may include new driver databases, feature improvements, bug fixes, and security patches.
• The software does not perform silent or unapproved updates. All updates require user awareness and, where appropriate, user approval.

The user retains control over the software at all times:

• Install: Requires affirmative user action to download and install
• Scan: Initiated by the user or scheduled per user configuration
• Update: Each driver update requires user selection and confirmation
• Automatic-update: User is notified and must approve installation
• Browser extension: User must accept during installation; removable at any time
• Uninstall: Standard Windows uninstall; no barriers or fees

Computeroids Driver Updater requires the following system permissions:

• Internet access: To download driver packages, check for software updates, and communicate with our license verification servers
• Administrator privileges: For driver installation (required by Windows for hardware driver installation)
• File system access: To read hardware device information via standard Windows APIs and manage driver backup files
• Scheduled task creation: For automatic scheduled scanning (configurable by the user)

The software does not request or require:

• Kernel-level drivers or services outside of standard driver installation
• Access to personal documents, media files, or user-created content
• Access to browser data, bookmarks, passwords, or browsing history
• Access to email, contacts, calendars, or messaging applications
• Camera, microphone, or location services
• Remote desktop or remote access capabilities

18.1 Hardware and Software Inventory

To provide driver update recommendations, the software collects the following information about the user's system:

• Operating system version and build number
• Hardware device identifiers (vendor ID, device ID, subsystem ID)
• Currently installed driver versions and release dates
• System architecture (32-bit or 64-bit)

This data is essential for matching the correct drivers to the user's specific hardware configuration.

18.2 License and Activation Information

For license verification purposes, the software may collect:

• A unique machine identifier derived from system hardware characteristics
• License key or activation token
• Product version and edition

This data is used solely to verify that the user has a valid license to use the software.

18.3 Diagnostic and Crash Data

If the software encounters an error or crash, it may collect:

• Error codes and stack traces
• Software version and configuration at the time of the error
• Operating system version and available memory

This data is used to diagnose and fix software issues.

Our data collection follows these principles:

• Data minimisation: We collect only the data necessary for the software to function.
• Purpose limitation: Data is used only for the purpose for which it was collected.
• Transparency: This document and our Privacy Policy describe what data is collected and why.
• Security: All data transmitted between the software and our servers is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.

20.1 Software Analytics

The desktop software may collect anonymised usage metrics, including:

• Scan results (number of drivers found, number outdated, number updated)
• Performance metrics (scan duration, update duration)

This data is used to improve the software and is not linked to personally identifiable information.

20.2 Website Analytics

Our website uses:

• Google Analytics (Universal Analytics and Google Analytics 4) to understand website traffic patterns and improve user experience. Data is anonymised. Users may opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
• Server-side analytics to track page views, including IP address and geolocation at city level, for operational and security purposes.

20.3 Opt-Out

Users who wish to opt out of analytics collection may:

• For software analytics: Disable analytics via the Settings tab in the application
• For website analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On
• For cookies: Manage cookie preferences as described in our Cookie Policy

Computeroids Driver Updater never collects:

• Passwords, credentials, or login information
• Credit card numbers or financial account information (payment processing is handled entirely by third-party PCI-DSS compliant processors)
• Personal documents, photos, videos, music, or other user-created content
• Browsing history, bookmarks, or saved passwords
• Email messages or contacts
• Instant messaging or chat logs
• Location data (beyond IP-based country/city for analytics)
• Biometric data
• Health or medical information
• Keystrokes or mouse movements outside the application window

We incorporate privacy principles into the design of our software from the outset:

• Data collection is minimised to what is functionally necessary
• Sensitive operations require user confirmation
• All network communications use encryption
• Users can access, export, and delete their personal data by contacting us
• Privacy Policy is linked from the software and website

All network communications between Computeroids Driver Updater and our servers are protected:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption is used for all API communications
• Driver downloads occur over HTTPS from manufacturer-authorised sources or our verified mirror cache
• License verification uses encrypted channels
• Update packages are downloaded over HTTPS

24.1 Code Signing

All distributed binaries are digitally signed with a code-signing certificate issued by a trusted Certificate Authority, identifying the publisher as Sapphire Softech Solutions LLC.

24.2 Secure Development

We follow secure software development practices, including:

• Input validation and output encoding
• Secure data storage
• Principle of least privilege for all operations

24.3 Third-Party Security

All third-party service providers (payment processors, hosting providers, analytics services) are selected based on their security certifications and compliance with industry standards.

24.4 Payment Security

All payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant third-party processors. We do not store complete credit card numbers on our systems.

Computeroids Driver Updater is not malware, spyware, adware, or any form of potentially unwanted program (PUP). We commit that:

• The software does not contain viruses, trojans, worms, or any form of malicious code
• The software does not engage in click fraud, ad injection, or any form of advertising fraud
• The software does not perform cryptocurrency mining
• The software does not install rootkits or any form of concealed access mechanisms
• The software does not participate in botnets or distributed computing without user consent
• The software does not redirect search queries or modify search results
• The software does not display pop-up advertisements or unsolicited promotional content
• The software does not modify the user's browser homepage, new tab page, or default search engine

Computeroids Driver Updater may offer optional components during installation, including:

• A desktop shortcut
• A Start Menu Icon

These optional components are clearly disclosed during installation. The user may accept or decline each component individually. No software is installed without the user's explicit consent.

We do not bundle third-party applications, toolbars, adware, or any software from unaffiliated companies. We do not participate in pay-per-install networks or similar distribution arrangements.

Important: If you encounter any bundled software during our installation that was not disclosed, please contact us immediately at support@computeroids.com and we will investigate.

Computeroids Driver Updater does not:

• Change the browser homepage or new tab page
• Modify the default search engine
• Redirect search queries through our servers
• Inject advertisements into web pages
• Track browsing history for advertising purposes
• Modify DNS settings
• Install proxy configurations

The software may read from and write to the Windows Registry only for:

• Storing application configuration settings
• Reading hardware device information via standard Windows APIs
• Reading installed driver information
• Managing scheduled tasks

The software does not modify registry keys related to browser settings, network configuration, system security settings, or any keys unrelated to its stated functions.

The software does not make system changes without the user's knowledge and consent. All changes are:

• Disclosed during installation (for initial setup)
• Initiated by user action (for driver updates, backups, restores)
• Configurable through the application settings

Specific changes the software may make include:

• Installing or updating device drivers (explicit user request)
• Backing up driver files (automatic, disclosed)
• Creating scheduled tasks (disclosed during installation, user-configurable)
• Adding Start Menu and desktop shortcuts (user-selectable during installation)

Keeping device drivers updated may resolve specific hardware-related issues such as:

• Display problems (screen flickering, resolution issues)
• Audio output failures
• Network connectivity errors
• Peripheral device malfunctions
• System stability improvements

Important: Performance improvements vary by system configuration, hardware age, and the specific drivers being updated. Not all systems will experience noticeable performance improvements after updating drivers. Factors that affect system performance include RAM, storage type (SSD vs HDD), processor speed, background processes, and operating system configuration.

We do not claim that Computeroids Driver Updater will improve overall system performance, speed up boot times, increase frame rates in games, or extend battery life, except where a specific driver update explicitly addresses these issues.

Our scan engine is designed to minimise false positives:

• Drivers are only flagged as outdated if a newer manufacturer-verified version exists in our database
• Drivers are only flagged as missing if a hardware device is detected without a functioning driver
• We do not flag generic or default Windows drivers unless a manufacturer-specific improvement is available
• Scan results are validated against multiple data sources before being presented to the user

32.1 Uninstall Method

Computeroids Driver Updater can be uninstalled using the standard Windows uninstall process:

1. Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
2. Locate "Computeroids Driver Updater with Active Optimization"
3. Click "Uninstall" and follow the prompts

The software also appears in the Windows Start Menu with an uninstall shortcut.

32.2 Complete Removal

The uninstall process removes:

• Application files and directories
• Start Menu and desktop shortcuts
• Scheduled tasks created by the software
• Driver backup files (user may be asked if they wish to keep backups)

32.3 What We Never Do

• We do not charge fees for uninstalling
• We do not make false claims about negative effects of uninstallation
• We do not require users to complete surveys or provide personal information to uninstall
• We do not hide the uninstaller or make it difficult to find
• We do not leave hidden components running after uninstallation

After uninstalling the Computeroids Driver Updater desktop software, a functional cookie set by our website may remain in the user's web browser. This cookie contains session tracking information and is not used to store personal data.

To remove this cookie, users can clear their browser cookies through the browser's privacy settings. See our Cookie Policy for instructions.

The desktop software itself does not leave any residual data on the system after uninstallation beyond what is described in this section.

We are committed to making our software accessible to users of all abilities:

Computeroids Driver Updater is designed for Microsoft Windows operating systems. We comply with:

• Microsoft Windows driver installation standards (including WHQL certification requirements where applicable)

• Windows User Account Control (UAC) requirements

The software does not bypass Windows security features, disable antivirus software, or circumvent operating system protections.
